Deutscher Lehrkräftepreis

The Deutscher Lehrkräftepreis is a national award that recognises outstanding teachers, innovative classroom projects and exemplary school leadership. It awards prizes across several categories including primary school, innovative teaching projects, outstanding teachers and exemplary school leadership, as well as special prizes (e.g. Environment & Sustainability, Media & Democracy). Winners are honoured at a prize ceremony in Berlin.

Recognition and awards in category-specific prizes; winners are honoured at a public prize ceremony; special sponsor prizes (for example Cornelsen-Sonderpreis, ZDF goes Schule).

Eligible are teachers, school leaders and teacher teams from all school types; teachers may be nominated (pupils can nominate a teacher).
