The Space Policy Summer School is an annual executive training programme on space policy and strategy organised by the European Space Policy Institute (ESPI) in collaboration with the Florence School of Regulation (EUI). The 2026 edition takes place in Florence from 2-4 September 2026 and explores the integration of space across sectors including energy, digital transformation and natural resource management. The format includes seminars, use-cases, interactive exchanges and group exercises led by ESPI and EUI lecturers and guest speakers.

Benefits

Participation in the training programme, coffee breaks, lunches, and any meals or social activities outlined in the programme. Scholarship recipients receive covered registration and partial travel and accommodation reimbursements as described.

Eligibility

Intended for parliamentarians, civil servants, industry professionals, staff of international organisations and diplomats, researchers and members of think tanks, and consultants. Five spots are reserved for graduate and post-graduate students. Separate ESA Academy Short Course Scholarship eligibility applies to PhD students who are citizens of ESA Member States, Associate Members, or Canada.

Application

Registrations were reviewed on a rolling basis; places confirmed once course/registration fee is paid. ESA scholarship applicants applied separately to the ESA Academy Short Course Scholarship with its own deadline and selection.
