International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research (ICRAR) Australia 2026

Information

The ICRAR Undergraduate Studentship is a paid summer research placement that gives undergraduate students research experience in astronomy, radio astronomy engineering and data-intensive astronomy. The 2026/2027 studentships run from 2026-11-16 to 2027-02-05 with a two-week paid break over the New Year. Successful students are assigned to a project at either the Curtin University or University of Western Australia node and complete a final report and presentation.

Benefits

Up to $7,600 stipend paid fortnightly; potential subsidy for flights and accommodation for applicants outside Western Australia; supervised research project assignment; final report and presentation experience.

Eligibility

Open only to Australian and New Zealand permanent residents who are undergraduate students or first-year masters students (preference for those entering final-year undergraduate honours or final masters year in 2026). Two priority places are reserved for Indigenous students.
