African Astronomical Society Conference 2026

The African Astronomical Society Conference 2026 is a continental meeting for astronomers, astrophysicists, engineers, policymakers and educators to advance dialogue, collaboration and innovation in astronomy and space science. It took place from 22-27 March 2026 at Wild View Resorts in Kasane, Botswana. The conference included plenary, poster and special sessions and aimed to support capacity building, research networking, education and outreach across Africa. It was jointly organised by the Botswana International University of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Communications and Innovation in collaboration with AfAS and South Africa's Department of Science, Technology and Innovation.

Platform for dialogue, collaboration and innovation; opportunities for networking, capacity building, education, outreach and knowledge sharing; presentation opportunities via plenary, poster and special sessions.

The conference is for astronomers, astrophysicists, engineers, policymakers and educators across the African continent.
