Information

The STFC Core Summer Schools Funding provides financial support to UK universities to deliver designated postgraduate summer schools in areas aligned with STFC’s core science programme, including astronomy, particle physics, nuclear physics and accelerator science. Five specific core schools are supported for 2027: Introductory Course in Astronomy; BUSSTEPP; Introductory Course in Solar and Solar-Terrestrial Physics; Nuclear Physics Summer School; and High Energy Physics Summer School. Supported schools must be aimed primarily at STFC-funded PhD students and comply with UKRI equality, diversity and inclusion principles. Applications for other summer schools or online training events are not considered under this funding stream.
