The SEG Challenge Bowl is an international, quiz-show–style competition for undergraduate and graduate geoscience students that tests breadth and depth of knowledge in geology, geophysics, geography, seismic methods and the history of the discipline. Teams of two SEG student members compete through local and regional qualifying events, with regional champions advancing to international finals held during the IMAGE meeting. The format includes short-answer and multiple-choice questions, category-based rounds and rapid-fire challenges at upper-level undergraduate to first-year graduate difficulty.

Eligibility

Participants must be student members of SEG; teams consist of two students at the undergraduate or graduate level and may compete through their university or regional events.
