Breakthrough Prize Foundation Online 2027

Information

The 2027 Breakthrough Prizes recognize outstanding contributions in Fundamental Physics, Life Sciences, and Mathematics, with individual Breakthrough Prizes in each field carrying $3 million. Additional awards include New Horizons prizes for early-career researchers and Maryam Mirzakhani / Vera Rubin New Frontiers prizes for recent PhD women scientists with smaller cash awards. Laureates are celebrated at an annual gala awards ceremony.

Benefits

Monetary awards (e.g., $3,000,000 for each Breakthrough Prize; up to three $100,000 New Horizons awards; up to three $50,000 New Frontiers awards) and recognition at an annual gala ceremony.

Eligibility

Anyone may submit a nomination for another person; self-nominations are prohibited. Specific prizes include eligibility conditions for early-career researchers and recent PhD recipients for certain New Frontiers awards.
