Hertie School African Scholars Programme

The Hertie School African Scholars Programme is a scholarship for students from selected African countries to pursue a master's degree at the Hertie School in Berlin. It supports study in the Master of Public Policy, Master of International Affairs and Master of Data Science for Public Policy. The programme includes tuition coverage, a monthly living stipend and leadership development and mentoring through the SOS-Kinderdörfer weltweit network. It targets candidates facing economic challenges and those underrepresented in similar programmes who demonstrate commitment to social impact and community leadership.

Tuition coverage (€38,500), monthly living stipend (€1,000), leadership development and mentoring via SOS-Kinderdörfer weltweit.

Available to nationals of specified African countries who apply for the Hertie School master's programmes (Master of Public Policy, Master of International Affairs, Master of Data Science for Public Policy). Candidates should face economic challenges, be underrepresented in similar opportunities, and demonstrate commitment to social impact and community leadership.

Apply to the Hertie School master's programme by 15 January; after receiving an admission offer, access the scholarship portal and submit a short essay within two weeks to complete the funding application.
