Information
The Wissenschafts- und Auslandsjournalismus (Besser-Stipendium) is a scholarship programme to support the training and further education of early-career journalists in science and foreign reporting in the German-language area. It funds internships, trainee editor positions (Volontariate) at domestic and foreign newsrooms, and journalistic degree programmes (excluding photography). Stipend levels and duration are set individually per project, with a maximum annual award of EUR 12,000 and access to the Studienstiftung's non-financial educational programme.

Eligibility
Open to graduates of all disciplines with a completed degree graded at least "good" (jurists: "vollbefriedigend"); applicants should aim for a journalistic career in science or foreign reporting. Proposed projects should last at least nine months; current and former fellows may apply with shorter projects.
