About this opportunity
Four Media Sentinel Fellowships are being offered for frontline grassroots researchers with expertise in social media listening and analysis, focusing on platforms such as Facebook, Telegram, WhatsApp, and X. The six-month part-time fellowships are a joint initiative between Code for Africa and the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to strengthen information integrity and support democracy and human rights in Southern Africa, with emphasis on climate and LGBTQ+ issues. Fellows will work with CfA’s iLab to provide information for early warning alerts on information manipulation and coordinated inauthentic behavior.

Eligibility
Applicants must be non-partisan, fluent in English or French, have access to a reliable laptop and internet, demonstrate understanding of social media platforms, and be available for weekly one-hour virtual meetings.
