Information
The Facilitated Graduate Admissions Program (F-GAP) is a cohort mentoring programme run by Math Alliance at the AMS to support undergraduate students preparing for graduate study in the mathematical and statistical sciences. Each F-GAP Scholar is paired in a mentoring triad consisting of the student, an Undergraduate Mentor (nominator), and a Graduate Faculty Facilitator to provide individualized mentoring, application guidance, and community support. The programme includes workshops, mentoring activities, and connections to resources aimed at strengthening graduate school applications and transitions to graduate study.
Benefits
Participation in a mentoring triad (Undergraduate Mentor and Graduate Faculty Facilitator), individualized mentoring for graduate applications, workshops and community-building events (including Field of Dreams conference), and support preparing competitive graduate school applications.
Eligibility
Students must be nominated by an Undergraduate Mentor; nominated students then complete a nominee information form. Nominators may nominate multiple students and must complete a nomination form for each nominee.
Application
Students must be nominated by an Undergraduate Mentor using a nomination form with three written prompts; after nomination, the nominee receives a link to a nominee information form. Nomination decisions are communicated by email.
