Information

The DPG-Lehrerpreis (DPG Prize for outstanding achievements in the teaching of physics at schools) recognises physics teachers for exceptional work in shaping and developing physics education at schools. Up to three prizes may be awarded annually; each prize comprises a monetary award and a certificate, and recipients are invited to the DPG annual event. Awardees present their recognised work at the spring meeting of the Physics Education division.

Benefits

€1,000 prize money per awardee; certificate with laudation; invitation to the DPG annual meeting; travel costs and one overnight stay at Physikzentrum Bad Honnef; additional €1,500 to the awardee's school; presentation opportunity at the spring meeting (travel covered).

Eligibility

Physics teachers of all school types are eligible; nominations must include a one- to two-page justification and a curriculum vitae. Self-nominations are not permitted.

Application

Candidates must be nominated (no self-nominations); nominations submitted to the DPG office must include a one- to two-page justification and a CV; nominations are reviewed by a seven-member prize committee.
