Information

The Schülerinnen- und Schülerpreis is an annual prize awarded by the Deutsche Physikalische Gesellschaft (DPG) for outstanding achievements in physics by school students. It is granted to participants who reach the fourth round of the German selection for the International Physics Olympiad and to participants of the International Young Physicists' Tournament who achieve one of the first three places. The award comprises a certificate, a monetary prize and a subscription to the DPG members' magazine for one year.

Eligibility

Participants who have reached the fourth round of the German selection process for the International Physics Olympiad and participants of the International Young Physicists' Tournament who have placed among the first three. The five best German participants of the annual Physics Olympiad and of the Young Physicists' Tournament are recognised.

Application

No direct application; recipients are selected based on competition results (reaching the fourth round of the German IPhO selection or placing in the top three at IYPT). Candidates are proposed by board members for School and for Scientific Programmes and Prizes.
