The Planting Trees for Justice in Brazil project is a grant-funded initiative to plant over 30 fruit trees in a community in Baixada Fluminense, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in order to provide nourishment, increase climate resilience, and foster a community orchard where people can learn to grow vegetables. The Terreiro community collaborates with the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ) and aims to raise awareness about environmental racism through an online campaign. The project is supported by The Pollination Project as a grant recipient to promote environmental justice and biodiversity.
