Innovative research in environment and society

Innovative research in environment and society is an international call for collaborative research projects under the Weave initiative, with Formas as Lead Agency and the Research Council of Norway and other national funders as Partner Agencies. Proposals must be led by a Swedish project coordinator at a Swedish host organisation and may include partners from Norway, Switzerland, Belgium and Luxembourg. Norwegian partners are funded by the Research Council of Norway and must prepare budgets according to the Research Council's funding rules. The call focuses on environmental research within the Climate and Environment portfolio.

Project funding for Norwegian project partners (up to NOK 5 million per proposal from the Research Council of Norway); partner funding pool of NOK 25 million.

Proposals must be led by a Swedish project coordinator at a Swedish host organisation; Norwegian applicants must be approved research organisations. Project partners may be from Norway, Switzerland, Belgium and Luxembourg.

Proposals are submitted with a Swedish lead applicant; a copy of the full proposal must be submitted to the Research Council of Norway by the Norwegian project partner within one week of the application deadline. Norwegian partners must register funded projects in the Research Council's system to establish a contract.
