MIT Portugal Projects Competition 2026

The MIT Portugal Projects Competition 2026 supports Portuguese researchers and institutions to collaborate with MIT on ambitious research projects. It comprises two funding streams—Joint Integrated Proposals and Seed Proposals—covering collaborative, high-impact areas such as chips and nanotechnology, energy, artificial intelligence, space, climate sciences, digital transformation in industry, and sustainable cities. The Portuguese team may receive up to 50,000 euros for a project under the Joint Integrated Proposals, with funding for 12 months; Seed Proposals are funded by MIT. Submissions are managed through MIT’s submission portal, with the MIT Portugal programme handling overall coordination and evaluation.

Financial support for selected research projects and collaboration with MIT; involvement in high-impact domains relevant to Portugal.
