Information

An essay competition for secondary school students in Georgia focused on European values and imagining the European of the future. Participants submit a written essay (up to 1,000 words) reflecting on topics such as human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, rule of law, human rights, inclusion, tolerance, solidarity and environmental care. Winners receive diplomas, monetary gifts and special jury nominations; an author selected by the commission may also receive a Council of Europe diploma according to Council of Europe regulations.

Eligibility

Students of public and private general education institutions in Georgia in grades IX–XII may participate. Essays must be in Georgian (ethnic minority students may submit in their language accompanied by a Georgian translation).

Application

Students submit an essay (printed or handwritten) up to 1,000 words with author name, surname, class and school. First-stage organisation and winner selection are conducted at schools and winning essays are forwarded to resource centres and expert councils for subsequent stages.
