Mathematics & Statistics Merit Scholarships (UNSW)

The Mathematics & Statistics Merit Scholarships are a set of undergraduate scholarships administered by the School of Mathematics & Statistics at the University of New South Wales. They are intended to encourage and assist students commencing full-time undergraduate study with a major in Mathematics or Statistics. Several named scholarships are listed (for example Beautiful Mind Scholarship, Advanced Mathematics Scholarship, Rural Student Scholarship), each offering an annual stipend for the minimum duration of the program. Applicants must be commencing full-time undergraduate study in a program with a major in Mathematics or Statistics; most scholarships require completion of the NSW HSC (or interstate equivalent) or IB in the previous two years with no tertiary study undertaken during that period. Some scholarships additionally require participation in a mathematics competition (for example the Mathematical Olympiad or UNSW Annual School Mathematics Competition) and submission of results.
