The Pan-African Women PhD Scholars Collective in AI & Livelihoods 2025 invites African women PhD students to join a paid collaborative research network exploring AI’s impact on youth livelihoods and the digital economy in Africa. The program provides funding, mentorship, networking opportunities, and support for publication and leadership in AI-related policy and innovation. It aims to elevate African women PhD researchers and enable contributions to AI-driven economic opportunities and digital transformation on the continent.

Benefits

Stipend for participation, travel/research funding, mentorship, monthly group and one-on-one mentoring, support to present at international conferences, opportunities to publish, leadership and networking opportunities.

Eligibility

African nationals or permanent residents enrolled in an English-speaking PhD program at an African university; under 40 years old; research interests in AI & digital economies related to youth livelihoods and innovation; committed to shaping AI in Africa.
