Institute for Advanced Study Memberships, 2027–28

The Institute for Advanced Study Memberships are residential research fellowships across four Schools: Historical Studies, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, and Social Science. Appointed Members pursue independent research free from teaching or administrative duties and have access to Institute offices, libraries, and campus resources. Memberships vary by School and may be associated with thematic Special Year programs. Applicants are considered for multiple funding streams supported by external foundations and trusts.

Access to Institute offices and libraries, subsidized dining and housing facilities, eligibility for a range of sponsored membership fellowships supported by foundations.

Scholars from around the world at various career levels are invited to apply; specific eligibility and membership types vary by School. Some named memberships target scholars affiliated with or from particular countries or regions.
