Information

The Knowledge Frontiers: International Interdisciplinary Research Projects is a British Academy grant scheme to support internationally collaborative interdisciplinary research led by UK-based researchers in the humanities and social sciences. Projects should address the theme of Mobilities and involve genuinely productive collaboration across SHAPE and STEM disciplines. Awards fund research activities over a 24-month period with projects beginning March/April 2027.

Benefits

Research grant of up to £300,000 over 24 months (80% FEC), funding for PI and Co-Applicant time, postdoctoral assistance, travel, fieldwork and networking costs.

Eligibility

The Principal Investigator must be a humanities or social sciences researcher based at an eligible UK university or research institute, of postdoctoral or above status (or equivalent experience) with an established role lasting at least the award duration and committing at least 20% FTE to the project. Involvement of overseas Co-Applicants is required and the project must demonstrate interdisciplinary collaboration.
