Information

A one-year training scholarship (plus six months of Japanese language study) for Omani teachers to undertake a training programme in Japan beginning October 2026. The programme is a non-degree training course and does not confer an academic degree or certificate. Participants are expected to return directly to Oman upon completion of the training. The scholarship includes support from the Government of Japan and administrative arrangements with the Omani Ministry of Education.

Benefits

One-year training programme plus six months of Japanese language study; economy-class travel ticket; monthly living allowance from the Government of Japan; continuation of Omani salary during approved training leave (without allowances) as per ministry policy.

Eligibility

Applicants must be Omani nationals, aged 35 or younger (born on or after 1991-04-02), hold a bachelor's degree in education, have at least five years of teaching experience, be proficient in English (spoken and written), be willing to learn Japanese and its culture, be medically fit, and must return to Oman immediately after completion of the programme.

Application

Interested candidates must complete application forms available via the Embassy of Japan in Oman website and will undergo tests and interviews; submission and selection follow embassy procedures.
