BerGSAS PhD Scholarships 2027

The Berlin Graduate School of Ancient Studies (BerGSAS) offers PhD admission in Berlin for 2027 across four structured programmes. Applicants may spend a semester at partner universities such as Harvard, Michigan, Oxford or Princeton, with potential funding support for the research mobility component. Admission requires a strong Master’s degree in ancient studies or a closely related field and demonstrates how the doctorate will be financed, often via external funding.

Applicants must demonstrate how the doctorate will be financed, or show that they have already applied for external funding; BerGSAS scholarships are not automatically granted.

Applicants normally need a very good Master’s degree in ancient studies or a closely connected discipline.
