Information

The Rotary Yoneyama Scholarship for Overseas Candidates is a scholarship for international students to pursue Master's or doctoral study at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU) in Japan. It provides a monthly living stipend and travel reimbursement and pairs recipients with a local Rotary Club and Rotarian counselor. The scholarship is intended for non-Japanese nationals living outside Japan and requires admission to APU as well as a separate application to the Rotary Yoneyama Memorial Foundation. Tuition is not covered by the scholarship.

Benefits

JPY 140,000 per month living stipend (up to two years); up to JPY 250,000 reimbursement for economy-class airfare and related travel expenses; pairing with a local Rotary Club and a Rotarian counselor; participation in Rotary cultural exchange and networking activities.

Eligibility

Applicants must be non-Japanese nationals living outside Japan (no more than 31 days previous residence in Japan) and be applying for an eligible Master's or doctoral program at APU. Dual Japanese nationals are not eligible. Language requirement: Japanese ability equivalent to JLPT N4 or above. Age requirement: born after April 2, 1982.
