Japan-Africa Youth Program 2026 for African Animation Professionals

The Japan-Africa Youth Program 2026 is an international exchange program organized by the Japan International Cooperation Center (JICE) for African animation professionals. It invites African animation studios to nominate one executive and one creator per company to visit Japan for about 12 days to learn about anime production sites and related institutions, and to strengthen ties between African and Japanese partners. The program includes an online pre-exchange component and covers travel, accommodation, and related arrangements in Japan and during the program.

International travel, accommodation, domestic arrangements in Japan, insurance coverage, and participation in the online pre-exchange program.

Applicants must be affiliated with an animation studio based in Africa, hold nationality of an AU member state (not Japanese), be no older than 39, and be able to communicate in English, French, or Japanese.
