The Khalifa University–UNESCO Global Water Hackathon 2026 is an international competition for university students to develop innovative water solutions. Teams of 4–5 undergraduate or graduate students, advised by 1–2 academics and 1 industry mentor, work across disciplines to address water security and sustainability challenges. The event includes research framing, mentoring, validation, and a global showcase at the UN Water Conference in Abu Dhabi, with a substantial prize pool and opportunities for recognition and networking.

Eligibility

Be undergraduate or graduate students from recognized higher education institutions worldwide. Form a team of 4–5 students, supported by 1–2 academic mentors and 1 industry expert.

Application

Form a team of 4–5 students with mentors and industry expert, register online by 7 September 2026, develop the problem framing and solution, submit final materials, and await jury decision before onsite final pitches in Abu Dhabi (8–10 December 2026).
