Information

The DAAD Study Scholarship for Master Studies is a postgraduate scholarship programme by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) to support international graduates pursuing a Master's degree at a state or state-recognized university in Germany. The programme funds Master's-level study across many academic disciplines for a period of 10–24 months. Funding normally begins in October 2027 for the 2027 intake. Some application routes (for example Dartmouth College) require institutional nomination before completing the DAAD application.

€992 monthly stipend; annual study allowance (€460); insurance contributions; travel support; possible rent and family allowances; language-course support in eligible cases.

Eligibility

Graduates who have completed a first academic degree (such as a Bachelor's) by the beginning of the funding period; applicants' most recent university degree should generally not date back more than six years at the application deadline. Applicants applying via the Dartmouth route must be eligible Dartmouth students or alumni and follow Dartmouth's nomination process.

Application

Applicants register and upload documents via the DAAD application portal. Applicants using the Dartmouth route must obtain Dartmouth nomination before completing the DAAD application and work with the Dartmouth Fellowships Office.
