EJN Virtual Media Workshop on Covering Great Apes and One Health in Africa 2025

The EJN Virtual Media Workshop is a online training event for environmental journalists in range countries in Africa. It covers reporting on threats to great apes, One Health, and conservation strategies, with sessions that combine presentations and discussions led by researchers, policymakers, and local communities. Participants will gain knowledge on ape health, storytelling techniques, and access to sources and resources for future reporting; a certificate of completion is awarded for attendance, and a subset may be eligible for a story grant after the workshop.

Certificate of completion; limited communications stipends may be available for those with unstable internet access; potential eligibility for a story grant to produce journalistic work after the workshop (awarded to up to 8 journalists).

Applicants must be journalists from range countries in Africa with experience covering conservation and/or One Health; applications are accepted in English and French, with interpretation provided if needed.
