Equator Prize 2025

Nominations are open for the Equator Prize 2025. The prize recognizes Indigenous Peoples and local community-led initiatives that advance innovative nature-based solutions for sustainable development, aligned with the Global Biodiversity Framework. Winning initiatives will be honored for protecting, restoring, and sustainably managing nature and will receive a monetary prize and opportunities to participate in policy dialogues and events.

Monetary prize of USD 10,000 and support to participate in policy dialogues and special events in fall 2025.

The initiative must have existed for at least three years, and be either a rural local community-based initiative operating in a country supported by UNDP, or an initiative led by Indigenous Peoples, operating in a rural area.
