Fonds de recherche du Québec - Master's Research Scholarship for Individuals (2027–2028)

The Master's Research Scholarship for Individuals from the Fonds de recherche du Québec is a competitive scholarship that supports candidates beginning or continuing a research-based master's program. It targets applicants with a professional degree in human health and resident physicians in Québec who wish to pursue or return to graduate-level research studies. The programme supports research across natural sciences, engineering, health, social sciences, humanities, arts and literature and aims to strengthen the pipeline of researchers.

Annual stipend of $25,024–$39,323; maximum total funding up to $50,048–$78,646 for up to six terms; additional supplement up to $1,500 per year for eligible top applicants studying outside Québec.

Applicants must hold or expect to obtain a professional degree in human health. Membership in a Québec professional order/association is required. Open to resident physicians recognized by the Collège des médecins du Québec. Applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents. Enrollment limit: no more than 3 full-time terms before May 1, 2027. New students must begin by Winter 2028 term. Part-time and professional master’s programs are not eligible.
