CGIAR++ PhD Scholarship 2026

The CGIAR++ PhD Scholarship 2026 is a fully funded doctoral opportunity at German universities, designed for MSc holders who want to pursue a PhD connected to ongoing CGIAR++ research activities. Applicants must form a three-way partnership (tridem) with a CGIAR++ senior scientist and a German university professor to develop the research proposal and supervision arrangements. The programme supports up to 10 PhD candidates for the 2026 cycle.

The PhD students are funded through the CGIAR++ PhD Scholarship arrangement, with supervision from CGIAR++ and a German university.

Candidates must hold an MSc in Agricultural Sciences or a related field and be willing to enroll in a PhD at a German university in collaboration with a CGIAR++ Center and a German supervisor.

Applicants must form a tridem (PhD candidate, CGIAR++ senior scientist, and a German university professor) and submit documentation according to the programme instructions.
