Information

The Electrical Design Engineer position at CERN is a paid, time-limited professional placement within a team responsible for low-voltage power, control and protection systems for CERN experimental facilities. The role involves design, implementation, testing and commissioning of electrical systems for magnet safety and infrastructure, working with multidisciplinary teams. Contracts can be extended up to 36 months and include on-the-job and formal training, including language classes. Candidates are expected to contribute to operation and reliability of magnet systems for LHC experiments and other critical infrastructure.

Benefits

Monthly net stipend (5266 or 5793 CHF depending on degree), 30 days paid leave plus 2 weeks closure, health insurance coverage, membership in CERN Pension Fund, family/child allowances, relocation package, on-the-job and formal training including language classes.

Eligibility

Applicants must be nationals of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State; by the application deadline have a maximum of 2 years of professional experience since graduation and hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree (must not hold a PhD); applicants must never have had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
