Information

The TWAS-CNPq Postgraduate Fellowship Programme 2025 offers full-time postgraduate fellowships for young scientists from developing countries (excluding Brazil) to pursue research towards a PhD at host institutes in Brazil. The academic year in Brazil typically begins on 1 March, with a start aligned to the host institution's classes. Fellows enrol for their PhD at the host institution and receive a monthly living allowance funded by CNPq.

Eligibility

Applicants must hold a university degree in the Natural Sciences (minimum Master’s degree) and be willing to pursue a PhD at a Brazilian host institution, among other requirements listed by the program.
