IWMF/UNESCO Safeguarding Women’s Voices: Enhancing Gender-Responsive Safety Strategies 2025

The IWMF and UNESCO invite newsrooms to participate in a program to strengthen safety policies addressing gender-based threats against women journalists. The initiative offers tailored safety support for newsrooms, including consultations, policy resources, and customized trainings. It aims to help outlets develop and monitor gender-responsive safety strategies, with a focus on high-risk environments and underserved regions.

One-to-one consultations with safety experts to identify an action plan; guidance to develop and monitor safety protocols; access to policy templates and newsroom policy examples; customized safety trainings for newsroom leaders and journalists.

All types of media outlets and newsrooms are eligible to apply.
