The Fulbright Lectorados de Español (FLTA) is a Fulbright programme placing Spanish readers of Spanish in U.S. universities for a nine-month academic year. Participants teach conversation and tutorial groups, coordinate extracurricular activities and take university courses while gaining teaching experience and cultural exchange. The programme offers a combination of a travel/general grant from the Fulbright programme, a monthly stipend from the host institution, and health/accident insurance. Ten fellowships are offered for Spanish nationals residing in Spain.

Benefits

US$4,000 travel/general grant; monthly stipend from host institution (approx. US$400–1,000); commonly provided accommodation and meals by host; health and accident insurance; placement at a U.S. university for nine months and opportunity to take university courses and participate in extracurricular activities.

Eligibility

Applicants must have Spanish nationality and fiscal residence in Spain, reside in Spain at opening of the call and during selection, and hold a bachelor's degree obtained between June 2020 and October 2026. If academic training is not in languages or education, applicants must demonstrate up to seven years of teaching experience. Validity of specified English test scores requires tests taken after 2024-09-01.
