Covering Protests: Legal Rights, Real Risks and Lessons from the Field is an expert-led workshop bringing together First Amendment litigators and student journalists to discuss legal obligations and risks when reporting on protests. The session provides concrete legal guidance for covering protests and examines recent cases where student journalists faced discipline or prosecution. It is targeted at journalists and student reporters and includes presentations and discussion with a Student Press Law Center attorney.
