Information

The Monetary Policy Challenge is a simulation competition that immerses participants in a Monetary Policy Committee setting where they assess macroeconomic trends and recommend an appropriate Central Bank Rate. It is organised under the BNR Engage programme and involves presentations of MPC-style recommendations to a jury of senior economists from the National Bank of Rwanda. The sixth edition advanced 48 finalists from over 1,000 applicants to a grand finale. The challenge targets university economics students and aims to strengthen analytical, teamwork and communication skills.

Third- and fourth-year economics students (university level).
