Bert and Vera Thiess Scholarship in Civil Engineering

The Bert and Vera Thiess Scholarship in Civil Engineering is a one-year undergraduate scholarship awarded for academic excellence and financial hardship. It provides monetary support to domestic students enrolled full-time in specified Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) or related dual/master programs with a focus on civil engineering. The scholarship is maintained by a gift from the Bert and Vera Thiess Foundation and may be awarded to multiple recipients.

$20,000 stipend for one year

Domestic students enrolled full-time in Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)/Master of Engineering or a dual engineering program who can demonstrate financial need and do not hold a similar scholarship as determined by the Head.

Apply using the University of Queensland online application form and submit a cover letter, resume, academic documents, evidence of financial hardship and other requested materials; shortlisted applicants will be interviewed.
