Information

The Brian McGrath Bursary in Civil Engineering is a one-year monetary scholarship awarded to undergraduate honours students in civil/engineering programs. It supports students undertaking a thesis, with preference given to those conducting research in coastal engineering. The bursary was established in 2017 through a philanthropic gift from the Estate of Brian McGrath.

$1,000 bursary intended to support professional/personal development activity to support the thesis project such as field work expenses, conference attendance and associated travel costs

Eligibility

Domestic students enrolled full-time in the final year of a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)/Master of Engineering, or an engineering integrated or dual program, enrolled in a thesis course at time of application, expected to graduate in 2027 or Semester 1, 2028, and not holding another similar scholarship or bursary as determined by the Head.

Application

Apply via the online application portal and submit a cover letter, resume, a detailed outline (max 2 A4 pages) of the proposed development activity to support the thesis, and a copy of the studies report from mySI-net.
