Newmont Mining Engineering Scholarship

The Newmont Mining Engineering Scholarship is an undergraduate and honours scholarship for domestic students studying engineering at The University of Queensland. It provides financial support of AUD 10,000 with a duration of up to three years. The scholarship gives preference to female applicants and is supported by an annual gift from Newmont Australia. Applications for the next round open in January 2027 and close in March 2027.

Domestic, commencing full-time students enrolled in an approved undergraduate or honours program who have declared, or intend to declare, a specialisation or major in any field of engineering (excluding biomedical engineering) before their second year and do not hold a similar scholarship. Preference will be given to applicants who are women.

Apply via the UQ application portal; applicants must submit a cover letter, resume, recent Year 12 report and ATAR Advice Notice (or equivalent). Shortlisted applicants may be interviewed.
