Internship within the Swedish Foreign Service

An internship within the Swedish Foreign Service places students at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs (Utrikesdepartementet) or at Swedish embassies and consulates abroad. Internships normally last one full academic term and must be part of an ongoing degree programme. Interns receive work experience but no financial compensation or housing; interns must have valid insurance and may be subject to security checks.

Work experience within the Ministry for Foreign Affairs or at Swedish embassies/consulates; normally a full-term, full-time placement. No pay and no housing provided.

Applicants must be enrolled as students at a Swedish university/college; Swedish students studying at foreign universities may also be eligible. The internship must form part of an ongoing programme leading to a degree.
