Commercialising Knowledge Assets Fund (CKAF) Winter

Grant Partially funded
UK Research and Innovation (Government Office for Technology Transfer) United Kingdom 2026

Information

The Commercialising Knowledge Assets Fund (CKAF) Winter is a UK government-funded grant competition to move viable public sector knowledge assets towards commercial readiness. It offers grants intended to support UK-registered public research organisations and other eligible public sector bodies to develop commercially promising knowledge. Grants are administered to the applicant organisation and are aimed at advancing commercial readiness rather than funding individual training or study.

Benefits

Grant funding between £50,000 and £250,000 to develop commercial readiness of public sector knowledge assets; funds are awarded to and administered by the applicant organisation.

Eligibility

Open to single applicants where the lead applicant organisation is UK-registered and is a Public Sector Research Establishment (PRSE), a UKRI wholly owned institute, or other public sector bodies that meet Government Office for Technology Transfer (GOTT) standard eligibility criteria (for example arms length bodies that undertake research as a primary function). Grants shall be awarded to, and administered by, the applicant organisation.

Application

Single UK-registered eligible organisations apply via the Innovation Funding Service; grants are awarded to the applicant organisation and administered by that organisation.
