Doctoral Focal Award Plus: Innovating in Data-Driven Research

The Doctoral Focal Award Plus: Innovating in Data-Driven Research is a funded programme to develop a cadre of social scientists with skills in data-driven research through doctoral training and targeted capacity-building activities across career stages. It will deliver doctoral studentships alongside training and capacity-building for mid-career and senior researchers. The Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) will contribute a maximum of £5.85 million to the award. The funding is open to UK research organisations eligible for ESRC funding and may be delivered by single institutions or multi-institution consortia.

Applicants must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for ESRC funding and have the infrastructure to provide postgraduate training. Organisations may apply as a single institution or as part of a multi-institution consortium; the lead organisation may only be lead on one application but can be co-lead or partner on multiple applications.
