Junior Fellows of the Simons Society of Fellows

The Junior Fellows program provides up to three years of support for outstanding young scientists to conduct independent research at a host educational institution in New York City. Fellows attend weekly lectures and dinners at the Simons Foundation, participate in an annual conference, and participate in a four-day weekend retreat. The award includes a stipend, fringe benefits, a research allowance, and institutional indirect costs support, with the position beginning in mid-2027.

Nominees must be engaged in research in one of the supported science areas and must have fulfilled Ph.D. requirements no earlier than May 2025 and no later than August 2027.

Nomination packages involve three roles (nominator, recommender, mentor) and submission through the SAM application system.
