IBRO Equitable Meeting Awards

The IBRO Equitable Meeting Awards is a grant programme that provides financial support to neuroscience conferences organized by IBRO scientific member societies. Awards support activities that promote early-career professional development and advance diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) within neuroscience, including open travel grant programmes linked to meetings. Eligible events are in-person or hybrid main conferences scheduled in 2027 and must demonstrate DEI integration and high visibility.

Direct financial support to member societies for specified conference activities, funding for speaker travel and accommodation (for early-career or underrepresented speakers), earmarked travel grants for early-career researchers to attend meetings, and possible support for a sponsored IBRO keynote lecture.

Open exclusively to IBRO scientific society and federation members in good standing; affiliate members and non-member organizations are not eligible. Member societies may request support only for activities taking place during their main (e.g. annual, biennial) conferences; events must be in-person or hybrid and scheduled in 2027.

Member societies apply through the IBRO Grants Portal; proposals must align with IBRO DEI and Visibility Guidelines and demonstrate inclusion strategies for travel grant programmes.
