Brain Awareness Week Grants

Grant
International Brain Research Organization (IBRO) Worldwide 2026

Information

The Brain Awareness Week Grants support outreach and awareness initiatives that promote public understanding of neuroscience and brain health. Grants fund local activities such as school outreach, advocacy groups, and events for policymakers and media, with an emphasis on diversity, equity and inclusion and on interdisciplinary projects addressing societal implications of neuroscience. The programme prioritizes activities in regions with limited resources or public understanding and requires alignment with IBRO and Dana Foundation visibility guidelines. Funds are disbursed in two instalments (80% before the event and 20% after submission of the grant report).

Benefits

Project funding for outreach activities (disbursed 80% pre-event, 20% post-event) and visibility through IBRO/Dana promotion when guidelines are followed.

Eligibility

Organizers proposing Brain Awareness Week (BAW) events held in countries outside of Europe may apply; events must be held in 2027. Organizers of activities taking place in Europe should apply through the FENS/Dana Brain Awareness Week Grants call.

Application

Submit an application through the IBRO Grants Portal, creating an account if needed and providing hosting organization overview, event description, budget, CV(s) and supporting documents.
