Smith Scholarship Foundation

The Smith Scholarship Foundation awards financial scholarships annually to deserving students graduating from Alabama high schools. Awards range from $500 to $20,000, with 10 to 15 full scholarships and additional partial awards each year. Smith Scholars receive mentorship, internship opportunities, and potential qualification for study abroad and graduate scholarships. Full scholarships are renewable subject to a renewal application and program compliance.

High school seniors graduating from an Alabama high school with a minimum GPA of 2.5, who demonstrate financial need (SAI exceeding $5,000) and complete the FAFSA. Applicants must show leadership, community service, volunteer work, and evidence of overcoming personal and financial hardships.

Complete the online application with short-answer questions and essays, submit at least three letters of recommendation, upload transcripts and proof of Pell Grant completion, and submit by the first week of January.
