The UNESCO/Guillermo Cano World Press Freedom Prize honors a person, organization or institution that has made an outstanding contribution to the defence or promotion of press freedom worldwide. The prize includes a monetary award and a certificate, awarded annually by UNESCO on World Press Freedom Day. Nominations are invited from candidates who have demonstrated significant contributions to press freedom across all media, including digital media.
