Fallen Heroes Fund

The Fallen Heroes Fund is a scholarship established by the Community Foundation of West Texas to support the educational aspirations of dependent survivors of service members and first responders who died on active duty since September 11, 2001. It provides supplemental financial assistance to help cover educational expenses in addition to financial aid and survivor benefits.

Supplemental financial assistance toward educational expenses; full-tuition coverage up to the cost of a four-year degree at Texas Tech University.

Applicant must be a dependent survivor (spouse or child, including biological, adopted, or stepchildren) of a service member or first responder who died on active duty since September 11, 2001. Must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a post-secondary educational program and may be registered full-time or part-time.

Verify dependent survivor eligibility, complete the scholarship application form, provide documentation of dependent survivor status and proof of enrollment or planned enrollment, and submit all materials by the deadline.
