Information

The British Academy Early Career Researcher Network Seed Fund provides small research grants to support nine-month research projects led by members of the British Academy Early Career Researcher Network. The awards are intended to help early-career researchers develop new research initiatives, build collaborations (including with non-HEI partners), and leverage further funding. Projects may be individual or collaborative and are encouraged to be interdisciplinary.

Benefits

Grant funding up to £5,000 to cover direct research and collaboration costs for a nine-month project.

Eligibility

Applicants must be members of the British Academy Early Career Researcher Network who have attended three British Academy Early Career Researcher Network events (online or in-person). Both lead applicant and co-applicant must be ECRN members. Eligible researchers must not have received grant funding over £11,000 within the last two years from the British Academy or elsewhere and must produce an end of project report three months after completion.

Application

Members apply via an online application form accessible to ECRN members on the Online Community Platform; both lead and co-applicant must be ECRN members and have attended three ECRN events. Applications undergo eligibility check, peer review, and partial randomisation for highest-ranked applications.
